i love this new mun furniture collection from interior designer Christine Starkenburg for Andaacht Studio in the Netherlands. It’s called slow wood, and it’s hand-made with love and attention by local craftsmen in Fryslan, using solid wood, 100% natural finishes and mineral paint on iron bases for an industrial look and feel.

Mad dogs and rats

We’re animal mad at sofa.com, with 2 resident dogs in the office and several others who drop by when they’re in town. People have uploaded over 1000 photos of their pets on our Facebook page – even some (cute?) rats. We’d love to see your pets too! basalte LED based light switches

I’ve got more Belgian quality design for you today. My first contact with today’s company was at Interieur 2010 if memory serves me right. In the comments of last week’s item about the Spock LED light I got reminded about it by Alexandre Chailleux in the comments.

Light switches, power sockets, Ethernet sockets often are a forgotten piece of interior design. Not so for Belgian company basalte. They specialize in home automation. Home automation should be simple and add comfort to the complexity of the modern home. What you immediately notice is that these are gorgeous to look at. Beauty is hollow without the accompanying function that excels in simplicity.

Two days ago we reviewed our installation of the Elements electric towel warmer we received free from the very nice people at WarmlyYours. I recommended you use the above link to review our installation experience when you have need.

Today, we complete our review of the Elements electric towel warmer product which can quickly turn your bathroom into a luxurious bathroom.

For us, the need is more basic. One of our family members has special challenges and is always freezing for numerous minutes, especially in the winter, when we take her out of the bathtub. It has to be quite uncomfortable for her.

Now, here is the Elements electric towel warmer installed on the wall of her bathroom to the right of the electrical outlet.

Notice that it can swing out from the wall if needed which is a really great feature.
